If you thought I wasn't going to somehow include Abbey Lee in my ABC's, you thought wrong!! I know this is totally cheating but I die for her...she is the ultimate. Here she is once again in a cover shoot for the March issue of Vogue Russia by Josh Olins. GY.

Rumi Neely is a fashion blogger who started the blog Fashion Toast in 2007, by 2009 it was generating over 35,000 hits per day! She has also dabbled in designing and did a couple of pieces for RVCA as well as modelled for the company. I thought I would shed some light on a fashion blogger since we have not thus far! Rumi has an awesome sense of style and looking at her blog always gives me really great outfit inspiration!- LS

Erin Wasson has graced the cover of countless magazines, walked the runways of virtually every A-list designer, and has worked with the industry's most renowned photographers. Known for her low-key sense of style, Wasson has styled for Alexander Wang, and designed her own womenswear collection, Erin Wasson x RVCA, in collaboration with surf and skate lifestyle brand, RVCA. Wasson also launched her own jewellery line, Low Luv, which is available in Toronto at jacflash. - GY

Denim is one fashion trend that will never go out of style, so don't feel guilty when splurging on a nice pair of jeans! Citizens of Humanity recently introduced Jeggings (aka jean leggings), which I swear to god were made for me! They are made using Japanese Bemberg fibers, with a downright flexible 35-percent stretchability. They are the ultimate skinny jean and I recommend getting them in hmmmm...every wash! If you're looking for something more classic, try Nudie Jeans. Aritzia just picked up the unisex denim line, which pride themselves on their ability to age beautifully. Nudies are produced using top quality materials and processes and the company also stands by ethical production values, with many styles in the collection being made from 100% organic cotton.

Ok so here goes the letter B, we've been slacking a little but that's cause we're both crazy busy like busy bees, get it? haha!

In the period following World War II, Pierre Balmain was "a king of French fashion" and outfitted stars including Ava Gardner and Brigitte Bardot. After Pierre Balmain's death in 1982, the house was led by Erik Mortensen, described by Vogue as Pierre Balmain's "right hand."Oscar de la Renta led the house between 1993 and 2001. Under Pierre Balmain, Mortensen, and de la Renta, the house was known for its classic, luxurious designs Today, the house is led by designer Christophe Decarnin, whose vision for the house is more modern and edgier. In around 2008 and 2009, The clothing line became extremely popular both among fashion magazines, runways and celebrities. Below I have posted looks from Spring 2010 runway that I really liked! Enjoy xoxo
**UPDATE: Just wanted to add that Balmain was by far the biggest inspiration for jac + gill! - GY

A : A L E X A N D E R M C Q U E E N

I'm trying to get more familiar with designers, models, photographers, fashion terms/trends, music, culture, blogs/magazines, etc. for my new job, so I've decided to do some ABC's over the next 26 days. Whatever inspires me the most each day from my research (starting with the letter of the day), I'm going to post it here. I know this is really cliché, but what better way to start this project off than with the late Lee Alexander McQueen, founder and designer of Alexander McQueen. You might remember these 12-inch heels worn by Lady Gaga in a recent music video we posted!

Lee Alexander McQueen (1969 - 2010) was a British fashion designer known for his dramatic tailoring, ground breaking collections, and avant-guard runway shows. After graduating from London's Central St. Martins College of Art & Design in 1995, he went on to become the head designer at Givenchy, and eventually launched his own label in 2001. McQueen was one of the youngest designers to ever receive the British Designer of the Year Award, which he received four times throughout his career. He was also awarded the CBE and named International Designer of the Year at the Council of Fashion Designer Awards. As arguably one of the most iconic fashion designers of all time, McQueen will be greatly missed.
