Want to give your boo some jewelry by the time the 14th rolls around, but does love-themed jewelry bring up horrible tv-commercial-jingles? There's no way in hell that someone's not going to feel pangs of lovey-doveyness on Valentine's Day with this carved, sterling-silver Stump ring from Digby & Iona. And in true Shel Silverstein form (a la "The Giving Tree"), the ring comes with a carved heart that you can customize yourself with a pair of initials. Excuse us while we barf from cute overload all over our desks. Buy here for $210, please. - Refinery 29

I got to the Vancouver airport yesterday afternoon only to find out that my flight was behind schedule, deferring my midnight arrival in Toronto to 2AM. No dig deal. Despite being congested and drowsy from all the cold meds this weekend, I decided to make the best of it and catch up on some overdue blogging. I got myself a honey lemon tea and set my laptop up in a wifi zone. It died instantly. No big deal. I reached down into the side pocket of my carrying case to grab my charger. Forgot my charger. No big deal…I guess.
I take out my book, the Celestine Prophecy (that I have been procrastinating from reading for weeks), and pick up where I last left off. After flipping back a few pages to recapitulate what has been going on, my eyes start getting heavy and my mind starts to drift away from the pages in front of me. I put the book down and close my eyes.
The next four hours and ten minutes were spent rotating from the television, to my ipod, to my thoughts, to massaging my sinuses and getting up to blow my nose (at least one thing went right…getting an aisle seat). Moral of the story…never travel when you’re sick (I know, I should have listened to you!). Trust me, when it rains, it fucking pours!
P.S. On the bright side, Vancouver is stunning, and so is my new office! :) Just need to find an apartment and some new friends and I'm golden!
